STOMACH UPSET? VOMITING YELLOW BILE?

Have you ever noticed dogs sometimes throw up a yellow bile? This was happening with one of our chows on a fairly regular basis so we researched it and found the answer to be quite surprising!

This kind of vomiting is usually seen in the morning or late night just before eating, especially in dogs that are fed once daily. It is said this may be due to prolonged periods between meals, Apparently stomach inactivity aggravates the bile reflux. To fix this, avoid feeding your dog one really large meal - it's better to feed on a more frequent basis (2-3 smaller meals) as it helps to prevent a build up of bile and gastric juices.

As soon as we started feeding our guy more often throughout the day the vomiting stopped. Even when your pup is all grown up, it is still beneficial to feed this way. A handy trick to get into the habit, is to set out the day's food in a container and feed them out of there, several times a day.
